In a tweet posted at 21:15 UTC, Senator Slotkin emphasized the importance of focusing on economic issues. She stated “We have to be ruthlessly focused on the economy.”

Later that evening at 22:30 UTC, she criticized President Trump’s energy plan by stating “President Trump’s plan is going to make the cost of energy more expensive.”

Elissa Slotkin was born in New York City in 1976 and currently resides in Lansing. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Cornell University, which she earned in 1998.
