Sen. Elissa Slotkin, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Michigan’s 7th district since 2019, recently addressed several key issues on her social media account.

On March 9, 2026, Slotkin highlighted her participation in a regional event by posting: “At Great Lakes Day last week, I spoke to a room of Americans and Canadians who all have one thing in common: our love for the Great Lakes.”

Later that day, Slotkin responded to recent severe weather events affecting her constituency. In a tweet posted at 23:37 UTC, she stated: “Following the devastating tornadoes in Southwest, MI, my team and I are keeping in close touch with local officials, who are doing yeoman’s work to try and help their communities recover. The goal now is to assess storm damage, expedite storm cleanup, and work to restore power”.

On March 10, 2026, Slotkin commented on remarks made by another elected official. She wrote: “This, from a U.S. Representative, is racist and deeply anti-American. Everyone — Democrats, Republicans, and Independents — should condemn it.”

Slotkin was born in New York City in 1976 and currently resides in Lansing. She graduated from Cornell University with a BA in 1998.
