Senator Elissa Slotkin, representing Michigan, posted a series of updates on social media addressing U.S. military assistance to Israel, domestic policy priorities, and the impact of severe weather in her state.
On April 15, 2026, Slotkin stated: “Today, I voted to block the provision of U.S. military assistance to Israel: 1,000-pound so-called ‘dumb’ bombs and military bulldozers. In the future, I will continue to assess U.S.-funded offensive weapons to Israel on a case-by-case basis, and I will continue to support”. This reflects her ongoing approach to evaluating U.S. military aid on an individual basis.
The following day, April 16, she commented on domestic policy needs: “Instead of an emergency on Canada. We need an emergency on housing.” The post highlights her emphasis on prioritizing housing issues over other emergencies.
Later that same day, Slotkin addressed recent extreme weather events affecting Michigan residents: “Yesterday, Michiganders across our state bore the brunt of extreme weather, including floods and tornadoes. This is a difficult and trying time for our neighbors, but Michiganders stand together, and we will rebuild together. Thank you to the first responders and neighbors who”.
