Mike Rogers, an Army veteran and businessman endorsed by former President Donald Trump, received a $45 million investment from the Senate Leadership Fund (SLF) for his U.S. Senate campaign in Michigan on Apr. 6.
The SLF’s financial commitment marks the largest allocation to any state this election cycle, highlighting Michigan as a top opportunity for Republicans to gain a Senate seat. The fund is also investing in the state earlier than it did during the previous cycle.
Alyssa Brouillet, Communications Director at Rogers for Senate, said, “Supporters are betting on Michigan because they know that Mike Rogers has what it takes to win and save our state. While the Democrats campaign with known antisemites who claimed ‘America deserved 9/11’ and cater to their far left base, Mike Rogers is running a common sense campaign focused on affordability, jobs, and safety. This is a no-brainer.”
Alex Latcham, Executive Director of SLF, said, “Senate Leadership Fund’s historic investment is a testament to the strength of Mike Rogers and our commitment to flip Michigan red in November.” According to reporting by The Detroit News (source), these ad reservations will begin in late August and cover all of Michigan’s early-voting period. The coverage includes broadcast television as well as cable and streaming services; radio airtime; data operations; direct mail; text messaging; field outreach; absentee ballot follow-up efforts; and get-out-the-vote initiatives.
The SLF funding follows an endorsement from Sentinel Action Fund along with its own pledge of $15 million toward advertising and voter outreach efforts throughout Michigan this year.
According to the official website, the Rogers for Senate campaign aims to promote economic growth through job creation while reducing costs for residents and protecting benefits for seniors across Michigan. The site confirms that Rogers leads these electoral activities as part of his bid for U.S. Senate representation (source). Correspondence related to his campaign can be sent via P.O. Box 132 in St. Joseph (source).
Observers note that building up significant resources early could give Republicans an advantage heading into November’s general election.
