On April 16, 2025, Slotkin marked a milestone since her inception as a U.S. Senator for Michigan by recounting achievements stating, “This weekend marked 100 days since I was sworn in as your U.S. Senator for Michigan. A recap: Visited 40 MI cities Co-led 63 bills and led my first Senate bill intro Returned $5 million to Michiganders and closed 530 cases Gave Dem Response to Trump’s Joint Address”.

Subsequently, on April 17, 2025, she critiqued comparisons between Canada’s treatment and that of China, expressing “Treating our allies like Canada like China doesn’t make any sense for Michigan. Just plain reckless.”

Further, Slotkin addressed an issue concerning due process under U.S. law on April 19, 2025. She asserted the importance of adhering to Supreme Court directives, saying, “Let’s cut through it: Mr. Abrego Garcia is entitled to due process under U.S. law. That simple fact is so clear that *this* Supreme Court has unanimously ordered his return from El Salvador. The Trump Administration must obey that directive, from a separate but equal branch of”.

Slotkin, a New York City native born in 1976, now lives in Lansing and has represented Michigan’s 7th District since 2019. Her academic background includes a Bachelor of Arts from Cornell University, earned in 1998.
