On Saturday, March 22, former Eaton Rapids Senior High School standout Shelby Kunkel’s current college team, the Miami RedHawks, won 3-2 in their NCAA Division I softball game against the Northern Illinois Huskies.
The game took place at Miami Softball Stadium. This was their third matchup against the Huskies this season.
The RedHawks’ next game is scheduled for Tuesday, April 1 at 1 p.m. at Miami Softball Stadium against Toledo Rockets.
The Michigan Department of Transportation will close the intersection at M-58 (State Street) and Warwick Street in Saginaw for storm sewer installation on May 14–15. This closure is part of a larger road reconstruction project affecting eastbound State Street. Detours are in place while MDOT coordinates additional utility upgrades.
