City of East Lansing issued the following announcement on July 30.
With the City of East Lansing transitioning back to in-person public meetings this August, community members are advised that some public meeting locations have changed to allow for enhanced physical distancing.
These public meeting location changes will be in place until further notice:
- East Lansing City Council meetings (regular and discussion-only) and East Lansing Planning Commission meetings will be moving to the East Lansing Hannah Community Center, 819 Abbot Road.
- East Lansing Brownfield Redevelopment Authority meetings and East Lansing Downtown Development Authority meetings will be moving to the MSU Broad Art Lab, 565 E. Grand River Ave., Ste. 1
The transition back to in-person meetings in August will include all East Lansing City Council meetings and all boards and commission meetings. These meetings will all be open to the public to attend in person.
As was the case prior to the pandemic, community members will still be able to view a livestream and recording of the East Lansing City Council and the East Lansing Planning Commission meetings via the City’s public meeting portal, https://cityofeastlansing.civicweb.net/Portal/, and via East Lansing Community Television, WELG (Channel 22): https://www.cityofeastlansing.com/174/Government-TV-Ch-22.
Additionally, to accommodate those who would still like to participate remotely in the City Council and Planning Commission meetings, there will be a call-in option during public comment. Call-in instructions will be posted on the meeting agendas at https://cityofeastlansing.civicweb.net/Portal/.
