Master Calendar

Webp calendar 01

Charlotte Public Schools recently issued the following announcement.

CPS Families!

Hopefully, you are enjoying the summer weather and having fun with your families on vacation, but many of you are already wondering what the 2021-22 school year will look like. As we have learned, we will still need to remain flexible, and follow our local data and the Barry Eaton District Health Department, but our Board of Education approved our Continuity of Learning Plan on Monday. Please note that our plan is in alliance with our neighboring districts as well. As we get closer to our  first day of school on 8/23, you will be getting information soon regarding our live Open House events, and please check our website/calendar for important dates! https://www.charlotteorioles.com/our.../master-calendar/

Will CPS have Face to Face or Virtual instruction next year?

**All instruction will be Face to Face next year at Charlotte Public Schools.  We did take a poll of our families to see if there was interest in a virtual option as well, but there were very few families that indicated they wanted that option.

What Safety Precautions will be implemented to keep our students healthy?

**We will continue our expectations for cleaning, sanitizing, and hand washing, along with distancing when possible.

**We will encourage parents to screen their students daily for symptoms, and if they are ill, to keep them at home.

What about masks?

**As our local data indicates the risk level of contagion is low, we will not be requiring masks for students inside of the buildings; however, students can wear masks if they choose.

**While we recommend wearing masks, this means masks will be optional for all staff, students, and visitors.

**There is a Federal health requirement for students to wear masks on buses, but students can take the mask off when they arrive at their destination.

It is important to note, should we see increases in community transmission or there is an outbreak, we may need to review the mask requirement.  For example, if there is a school outbreak or the local data becomes high, we would review the possibility of temporarily requiring masks, as an alternative to closing the building down or shifting to virtual programming.

We hope that this information helps you to be able to prepare your child for the start of the 2021-22 school year!  The first day of school is August 23rd, and look for communication in early August about Open Houses and Back to School Events!

Go Orioles! Oriole Pride!
