Charlotte Public Schools issued the following announcement on Aug 4.
Please join us in welcoming Mr. Guimont to Charlotte Middle School!
The excitement continues her are Charlotte Public Schools as we announce that we have selected a new Charlotte Middle School principal. The Board of Education approved the hiring of Ryan Guimont as Charlotte Middle School principal at their July 26th board meeting. Charlotte Public Schools and our greater Oriole community are lucky to have an exceptional individual joining our leadership team after serving our students as a CHS teacher for the past several years.
Mr. Guimont shared the following. “I am thrilled to be joining the Charlotte Middle School team as principal. Having taught at Charlotte High School for the last five years, I feel fortunate to take this next step here in Charlotte, an area where I have personally witnessed such generosity and togetherness.
For those that do not know me, after earning my teaching degree from Michigan State University, I moved to Baltimore, Maryland to teach at Kenwood High School. I taught at Kenwood for seven years in the areas of English Language Arts and special education. I moved back to Michigan five years ago and started teaching at Charlotte High School in the area of special education. I previously coached our boys' JV and freshman basketball teams. Over the last two years, I have been the high school's special education department chairperson and participated on the Building Leadership Team. This past year I was fortunate enough to take on the role of coordinator for The Bird Feeder food pantry, allowing me to interact with so many of you in ways to help support our community in a time of need.
When educating our children, I believe that we must make it a community effort that takes place every single minute of every single day throughout the school year. Through building a strong connection between home and school, our students can learn not only in the area of academics, but also in the areas of effective communication, independence, and social/emotional development. This "better together" philosophy will be what drives our efforts in helping our students become the best versions of themselves.
I look forward to getting to know you or, for some, getting to know you better as we work with our children's best intentions in mind. I take great pride in moving forward in this new role in such a fantastic district and community.”
Please join us in welcoming Mr. Guimont to Charlotte Middle School! We are very excited that he will continue to be a part of our Oriole Family!
Go Orioles! Oriole Pride!
