The turf has been returned

3002lakesofkatylanegameroom

City of East Lansing recently issued the following announcement.

The East Lansing Downtown Development Authority, City of East Lansing and several community donors have invested a lot of time, resources and money into creating vibrant public spaces in Downtown East Lansing for the community to enjoy during the COVID-19 pandemic. We appreciate those who have enjoyed these spaces responsibly. Unfortunately, negative behaviors, including theft and vandalism, have continued to be a persistent problem, and have made it difficult to continue with these placemaking efforts.

Please know that security cameras were recently installed downtown to deter these types of behaviors. If you know the identity of the individuals involved in this most recent theft of turf from the public space on the north side of the Division Street Parking Garage, please email elpdtips@elpolice.com or call (517) 319-6884. If the item is returned to the public space, no further action will be taken. Further incidents of theft or vandalism could result in legal action.
