Charlotte Students Enjoy Positive Peer Activities

Mammothboardingtwo

Charlotte Public Schools issued the following announcement on Feb 17.

Students in the Functional Independence Program enjoy a sledding trip

On Monday, February 14th, the students in the FIP (Functional Independence Program) at Charlotte High School and Middle School were able to take advantage of the recent snowfall to have a positive, social activity right in the Mid-Michigan Area. They went to Hawk Island Tubing Hill and had the chance to interact socially with their peers as well as getting some fun, winter exercise tubing down the giant hill.

Many of the students were timid and unsure at first, but after two hours, they started sliding down in groups, racing and sliding down like penguins.  It was another wonderful opportunity to discover a community recreation destination as well as enjoy an experience with their peers!
