Charlotte Public Schools issued the following announcement on Apr 14.
Families rely on Charlotte Recreation summer programming to keep kids active
Our Recreation and Athletic office have been busy planning wonderful options for our Oriole students this summer, so look for information coming out soon on our social media for registration information. CPS is looking to restore the full summer programming that families look forward to during the nice weather, and keeping our kids active! Please visit https://www.charlotteorioles.com/community/oriole-recreation/ for information on our Oriole Summer Flight Plan!
This plan includes amazing activities such as:

It is exciting to bring back these fun programs for our students, it looks like 2022 will be a great summer!
Also, I wanted to remind our community about the elections on 5/3/2022, as our Playground and Recreation Millage renewal is on the ballot. Here is a link to the information on our website https://www.charlotteorioles.com/community/playground-and-recreation-millage/
This millage was originally introduced and supported 10 years ago, and it is up for renewal this year. This is a renewal of an existing millage, so there would be no change to current tax rates. This does not raise our taxes, and would sustain the current rate for the next 7 years. Below is a link to a presentation, if you are interested in more information
