Michigan State University's online graduate civil engineering program has achieved notable recognition in the latest U.S. News & World Report Online Program Rankings for 2025. The program, part of MSU's College of Engineering, is ranked No. 5 among universities nationwide and No. 3 among public institutions. This marks the first appearance of MSU in these rankings for its online graduate civil engineering offerings.

Specific disciplines within education maintained top positions: curriculum and instruction at No. 3, educational administration and supervision at No. 3, educational/instructional media design at No. 6, and special education at No. 9.

In criminal justice studies within the College of Social Science, MSU's online graduate program ranks tenth overall and sixth among public institutions nationally for two years running. For veterans’ criminal justice programs, it stands seventh overall and fifth among publics.
