Rep. Elissa Slotkin, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Michigan's 7th district, has been vocal on various issues through her social media platform. Born in New York City and residing in Lansing, Slotkin graduated from Cornell University with a BA in 1998. Her recent tweets cover topics ranging from economic policies to national security appointments.

On February 11, 2025, Rep. Slotkin addressed the issue of tariffs via Twitter, stating that "Tariffs should be used like a scalpel, not a sledgehammer." She emphasized that indiscriminate use of tariffs could lead to increased costs for basic goods, particularly when applied to trade with Canada. She noted that the election results indicated that people are not seeking higher prices.

Later on the same day, at 20:07 UTC, she tweeted about her speech on the floor of the U.S. Senate regarding Tulsi Gabbard's qualifications for a significant intelligence position. In her tweet, she urged followers to "WATCH: I am speaking on the floor of the U.S. Senate about how uniquely unqualified Tulsi Gabbard is to be the Director of National Intelligence."

In another tweet posted at 22:39 UTC on February 11, Rep. Slotkin reflected on her background as a CIA officer and involvement with @ODNIgov post-9/11. She stated "We need someone in this office who has the competence & character to make the tough decisions...Tulsi Gabbard isn’t that person." This tweet further elaborated her stance against Gabbard's nomination for Director of National Intelligence.
