Rep. Elissa Slotkin, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Michigan’s 7th district since 2019, has been vocal on social media about various legislative initiatives and constituent engagements. On March 14, 2025, she shared insights into her efforts to safeguard American interests against foreign influence and protect local constituents.

On March 14, Rep. Slotkin emphasized the importance of protecting American farmland from foreign control. She stated in a tweet: "We can’t let countries like China gain control over the land that sustains us. Our legislation safeguards our farmland from falling into the hands of malicious actors. When we protect our farmers, we protect the backbone of America."

Later that day, she addressed concerns regarding technological advancements and national security in another post. Slotkin wrote: "It’s simple — no more helping China produce tech they could use against us. Our bill cuts off US investments into CCP-controlled industries + allows us to hit bad actors with tough sanctions. We must protect American innovation and our national security."

Additionally, Slotkin reflected on her recent tele-town hall held on March 13, engaging directly with constituents from Michigan's 7th district. She recounted: "Last night I hosted my first tele-town hall. I shared a live-streamed update w/ 25,000 Michiganders and answered live questions. One of those people was Kitty, a senior from Midland, who shared her fear of losing her health care." She expressed her commitment to advocating for individuals like Kitty by stating that such advocacy is her guiding principle.
