Rep. Elissa Slotkin, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Michigan's 7th district since 2019, recently expressed her concerns and insights on various issues through social media posts.

On March 20, 2025, Rep. Slotkin voiced her worries regarding staffing changes at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. She stated, "I am very concerned over the firing of probationary staff at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the potential impact these firings will have on the Great Lakes."

Later that day, she visited GM Flint Assembly to discuss employment and industry matters. She shared her experience by saying, "I was so glad to visit GM Flint Assembly, where they take incredible pride in producing more than 50 trucks an hour! I talked to leaders about the importance of the jobs here in Flint and ensuring everything we do in Congress strengthens our auto industry."

In a public event held in Flint with fellow representative @repkmr, Rep. Slotkin addressed community concerns over proposed cuts to essential programs. She highlighted financial implications by stating, "In Flint, @repkmr and I held a public event for folks who are scared, worried, and just plain angry about the potential cuts to Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security. Elon Musk is looking for $6T in cuts, and the math doesn’t work without going after health care."
