Sen. Elissa Slotkin, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Michigan’s 7th district since 2019, has recently voiced her concerns and perspectives on national security and electoral integrity through a series of posts on her social media account.

On September 9, 2025, Slotkin addressed the use of military force within American cities, stating: "Every American deserves to live in a safe city. But there's a right way to go about it and a wrong way. Putting the U.S. military in uniform, armed, on the streets of our cities and against the will of local authorities, is not it."

Later that day, she commented on the current political climate under former President Trump: "But we’re overdue for change. The good news is that we have a moment of rare opportunity here. Trump is indeed burning everything down. But instead of snapping back to the old way of doing things, we have to build something new out of the ashes."

On September 10, 2025, Slotkin posted about mail-in voting policies: "President Trump is trying to end mail-in voting."

Slotkin was born in New York City in 1976 and now resides in Lansing. She graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1998.
