Senator Elissa Slotkin, who represents Michigan’s 7th district in the U.S. Congress, addressed a range of policy issues in a series of social media posts this week.
On September 11, 2025, Slotkin wrote about her approach to energy policy, emphasizing the importance of incorporating both traditional and emerging energy sources. She stated, "We need an all-of-the-above approach to energy. That was my main message this week at the Growth Energy Biofuels Summit. We need the old stuff and the new stuff, and I’m glad that biofuels– a major part of Michigan agriculture– can be a part of that."
Later that day, Slotkin discussed her method for developing national security policies. She noted her engagement with local constituents to identify their concerns: "When I decided to lay out a new vision for our national security, the first thing I did was go to Michiganders to ask them what they think are the biggest threats to their security."
On September 12, 2025, Slotkin turned her attention to economic equity in America. She wrote: "We need to spread wealth across America, not just enriching 18 tech executives in Silicon Valley."
Slotkin has represented Michigan’s 7th District since 2019 after replacing Mike Bishop.1 Born in New York City in 1976 and currently residing in Lansing,3 she graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1998.4
