Senator Elissa Slotkin, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Michigan’s 7th district since 2019, posted a series of updates on economic and international issues between September 14 and 15, 2025.

On September 14, Slotkin addressed recent employment trends, stating, "Manufacturing jobs are down, and for the first time since 2021, we have more people unemployed than job openings."

The following day, she shared an update regarding her intelligence work: "Watch my full Intel Briefing here: https://t.co/2o0nEkyg0r" (September 15).

Later on September 15, Slotkin commented on global currency dynamics with a focus on China’s ambitions: "China wants to run the world on their currency. So we need a comprehensive plan to maintain the dollar as the leading global currency."

Slotkin was born in New York City in 1976 and currently resides in Lansing. She earned her undergraduate degree from Cornell University in 1998. Before joining Congress in 2019 after defeating Mike Bishop, Slotkin built a background that included national security experience.
