In a post from the morning of September 19, Slotkin highlighted concerns about cuts to local programs in Michigan. She wrote, "Michiganders know their programs are being cut left and right, and they’re coming to their elected leaders to ask: 'What can we do?'

Slotkin has represented Michigan’s 7th District since defeating Mike Bishop in 2019. Born in New York City in 1976 and currently residing in Lansing, she graduated from Cornell University with a BA in 1998.
