Senator Elissa Slotkin, currently representing Michigan’s 7th district in the U.S. Congress, addressed issues related to health care costs and free speech in a series of posts on September 22, 2025.

In her first post at 22:13 UTC, Slotkin commented on rising health care prices, stating, "Health care prices are going to skyrocket this November because of President Trump. I’m not going to just lay down and take that."

A few minutes later, at 22:16 UTC, she shared a link without additional commentary: "https://t.co/3bk8eN3tr8".

Later that evening at 23:00 UTC, Slotkin addressed concerns about free speech, writing, "You can’t only like free speech when it is on your side. We cannot become a country where whoever is in power can say, 'we don’t like the talk coming out of that person or that TV host.'"

Slotkin has served as the representative for Michigan’s 7th District since 2019 after succeeding Mike Bishop. She was born in New York City in 1976 and currently resides in Lansing. Slotkin earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Cornell University in 1998.
