Senator Elissa Slotkin, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Michigan’s 7th district since 2019, posted a series of statements on October 2, 2025, addressing ongoing political divisions over health care and expressing criticism of the President’s approach to military matters.

In her first post at 12:34 p.m., Slotkin wrote: "We’re frankly, throwing ourselves at our Republican colleagues to have a conversation about health care. But my colleagues on the other side of the aisle don’t have to want to have that conversation."

Later that day, at 1:36 p.m., she shared another post consisting solely of a link: "https://t.co/TWJvl7VWZ1".

At 2:58 p.m., Slotkin addressed presidential conduct in relation to the U.S. military, stating: "The President believes he is the hero of his own story, and is willing to hurt the standing of the U.S. military to look tough in public."

Slotkin has represented Michigan’s 7th District since defeating Mike Bishop in 2019. She was born in New York City in 1976 and currently resides in Lansing. Slotkin graduated from Cornell University with a BA in 1998.
