Sen. Elissa Slotkin, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Michigan’s 7th district since 2019, addressed concerns about federal government actions and their potential impact on her constituents in a series of posts on social media between October 2 and October 3, 2025.

On October 2, Slotkin commented on the uncertainty surrounding the Administration's plans during a possible government shutdown. She wrote, "We don’t know what this Administration will do during a shutdown, but I break down what we do know about how this will impact Michiganders. The following day, she addressed healthcare costs in another post dated October 3: "Everyone will get a letter telling you that you will pay more for health care: 10-20% on average. Who is responsible? President Donald Trump. Post that letter. Tell that story. https://t.co/S7znewD8zD".

Later on October 3, Slotkin raised concerns about presidential conduct and transparency, stating, "The President has violated the Constitution and the law too many times, and I am not just going to take him at his word. I have to see it in black and white. https://t.co/HrFi6dsfJ6".

Slotkin has represented Michigan’s 7th District since defeating Mike Bishop in 2019 and resides in Lansing after being born in New York City in 1976. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Cornell University (source: Fact 1, Fact 2, Fact 3, Fact 4).
