Sen. Elissa Slotkin, a U.S. Congress member representing Michigan’s 7th district since 2019, has voiced concerns on social media about recent developments in health care and constitutional issues under President Trump.

On October 6, 2025, Slotkin warned of rising health care costs for those with private employer-provided insurance, stating: "If you have private employer-provided insurance, you’ll get a letter telling you that your health care is going to go up by 10-20% starting January 1. That's because of the health care crisis created by this President and his Big Beautiful Bill."

Later that evening, she continued her criticism of the administration's policies with another post: "President Trump has created a health care crisis. And he has systematically made America poorer and sicker." This tweet was published on October 7, 2025.

In a separate message posted early on October 7, Slotkin addressed broader constitutional concerns: "No one gets to rewrite the Constitution to suit their political goals."

Slotkin, born in New York City in 1976 and currently residing in Lansing, earned her BA from Cornell University in 1998. She succeeded Mike Bishop as the representative for Michigan’s 7th district after the 2018 election.
