Senator Elissa Slotkin, who has represented Michigan’s 7th district in the U.S. Congress since 2019, posted a series of statements on her social media account on October 7, 2025, addressing issues ranging from health care policy to international conflict.

In a post from October 7, Slotkin criticized recent health care legislation associated with President Trump, stating, "President Trump has created a health care crisis with his Big Beautiful Bill, and now everybody’s going to be getting a letter saying their health care is going up. I want to hear your stories. Share your letter with me: https://t.co/866HZY2sUf https://t.co/EwDKcUYaMe".

Later the same day, Slotkin reflected on the anniversary of the October 7 attack, posting, "Today marks two years since the October 7 attack that took the lives of almost 1,200 parents, children, friends, and neighbors, and took 251 people hostage, in an act of sheer hate. It kicked off 2 years of pain, suffering and violence for Israelis and Palestinians that’s https://t.co/hB924gvZUs".

In another statement posted that evening, Slotkin commented on executive power, writing, "The President cannot just wage a secret war against secret enemies. https://t.co/MBaf4y3EYb".

Slotkin, who was born in New York City in 1976 and resides in Lansing, has served in Congress since 2019 after succeeding Mike Bishop. She graduated from Cornell University in 1998 with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
