Sen. Elissa Slotkin, who has represented Michigan’s 7th district in the U.S. Congress since 2019, posted a series of updates on November 14, 2025, addressing issues ranging from local traditions to national policy changes.

In her first post at 15:44 UTC, Slotkin highlighted the opening of Michigan’s firearm deer season: "Tomorrow marks the start of Michigan’s firearm deer season (Nov. 15-30), one of our state’s most cherished traditions. More than 500,000 hunters will head to the woods, continuing a legacy that brings families and friends together each year."

Later that day at 17:17 UTC, she commented on healthcare legislation: "Let’s review the bidding. The Big Beautiful Bill is going to force everyone to either lose their health care or pay more."

At 19:46 UTC, Slotkin addressed supply chain and agricultural policy in Michigan: "We cannot depend on foreign imports for our fertilizer needs. After our bipartisan effort, the Trump Administration has updated the critical minerals list to include phosphate and potash. A good step, which will bolster supply chains right here in Michigan."

Elissa Slotkin was born in New York City in 1976 and currently resides in Lansing. She graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1998.

Since taking office after replacing Mike Bishop in 2019, Slotkin has focused on issues relevant to her constituents such as agriculture and healthcare.
