Congressman Tom Barrett has recently highlighted several initiatives and community engagements in mid-Michigan through a series of posts on his official social media account.

On April 15, 2026, Barrett addressed the impact of tax policy on agriculture in the region. He stated, “By delivering tax relief and strengthening the farm safety net, the Working Families Tax Cuts are boosting mid-Michigan agriculture. Thank you to all the farmers, suppliers, researchers, and policy leaders who joined @SecRollins and me for an informative roundtable discussion”.

Later that day, Barrett turned his attention to infrastructure improvements in Brighton. He wrote on April 15, 2026: “Brighton’s Wastewater Treatment Plant has relied on a decades-old generator to keep the facility running when the power goes out. The $1 million investment I secured for the city will help replace this aging generator and keep the community and environment clean even during”.

Two days later, on April 17, 2026, Barrett recognized local manufacturing achievements with a visit to Crest Marine in Owosso. He posted: “For more than 60 years, Crest Marine has been a staple of Owosso manufacturing and a hub where innovation and manufacturing come together to produce reliable and cutting-edge pontoon boats. Thanks to the team for showing me around their facility!”

Barrett represents Michigan’s 7th Congressional District. His recent efforts align with ongoing discussions about federal support for rural communities through tax relief programs as well as investments in critical infrastructure projects such as wastewater treatment facilities.
