Charlotte Public Schools issued the following announcement on Oct 1.
Parkview students enjoy this perk this month, next month Washington students get the opportunity
Students at Parkview Elementary have the unique opportunity to ride the bus to swimming lessons, Tiger Sharks Swim Club, and the after school elementary swims this year. Wesson Poole, a lifeguard for the Charlotte Aquatic Center, gathers the students after school and has a snack and recess with them before boarding the bus to the Charlotte Aquatic Center. Once at the Charlotte Aquatic Center, the students are able to participate in their swimming activity. Parents pick their children up from lessons then have the evening for family time. This program is aimed to increase the time families can have together in the evenings by pairing after school activities to the school day. This also provides a fun way for students to learn how to swim and develop a love for fitness.
Next month Washington Elementary will have the same opportunity. Washington families can find more information about the classes and registration in their weekly information folders sent home this week. Registration will open on Monday, October 11th. All 30 slots filled up quickly for Parkview Elementary, so call early to reserve your spot.
