Charlotte Public Schools issued the following announcement on Nov 19.

Janie's love for art began in third grade

This week, our Charlotte High School featured artist is Janie Taylor. She is a senior at Charlotte High School. Janie’s love for art began in 3rd grade when she decided to create art pieces that were fun and colorful. She always worked on art projects through school and at home in her spare time. Janie moved into Charlotte in 9th grade and started taking art classes. Once she took Art l and Art ll, Janie felt like she needed to be in the art classes to help her get through the day.

Janie comes from a family who has a love for art. Her Aunt Kathi is an artist and Janie’s dad is a tattoo artist. Janie does not have a favorite artist because she loves all types of different art genres, although she loves big bold colors. Janie’s favorite medium is acrylic paint because it dries fast and is inexpensive. Janie’s work focuses on images that have a lot of meaning to her.
