Charlotte Board of Review meeting December 14, 2021 10:00 a.m.

City of Charlotte issued the following announcement on Dec 7.

Notice of Public Meeting

Pursuant to Public Act 267 of 1976, notice is hereby given that the Charlotte Board of Review will hold a meeting on Tuesday December 14, 2021 beginning at 10:00 a.m. in the Community Room, lower-level at Charlotte City Hall, 111 E Lawrence Ave, Charlotte 48813.

Persons with disabilities who require assistance in order to participate in the meeting should contact the City at the earliest opportunity by emailing clerk@charlottemi.org or by calling 517-543-8843.

Purpose: This meeting allows the board of review to act on very specific items relating to the assessment roll;

  • The Correction of qualified errors.
  • Granting of a Principal Residence Exemption that was not previously denied.
  • The board may review a denial by the assessor of a qualified agricultural property.
  • Exemption for the current year if the exemption was not in existence for the previous year.
  • The board may also grant a qualified agricultural exemption if there has not been a previous denial.
  • The board may also make limited changes in regards to the uncapping of a taxable.
  • The board may grant a Disabled Veteran Exemption for the current year only.
  • The board may also hear an appeal for a Poverty Exemption.
