On the occasion of the National Day of Prayer, Rep. Luke Meerman, a devout Christian representing Michigan’s 89th House District, emphasized the importance and power of prayer. He described prayer as a pillar of Christian faith and an essential part of personal spirituality during both uncertain and celebratory times.

“I’m grateful to have this National Day of Prayer to focus our hearts on God and our personal need for Him,” said Meerman. “Through that act of surrender, we can look to Him as the answer to the struggles of this generation in this great republic."

Meerman stressed that amidst the challenges faced by contemporary society, the National Day of Prayer serves as a crucial reminder for individuals to come together, seek guidance, and uplift their nation, leaders, and fellow citizens through prayer.

The representative also personally attended a rally celebrating the National Day of Prayer at the state Capitol Building.

“As a Christian and a public servant, I am deeply committed to upholding the principles of faith, freedom, and unity that have defined our nation,” stated Meerman. “I’m grateful for the opportunity to humbly join together with other believers at our state Capitol to seek God’s wisdom, guidance, and divine intervention for the challenges facing our state and nation.”
