FOIA Request to Michigan Association of State Universities Regarding Employee Salaries 2023 on November 15, 2024. As part of our ongoing commitment to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Capitol News have sent a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the Michigan Association of State Universities.
The request, made under the Michigan Freedom of Information Act § 15.231 et seq., seeks information about employee salaries for the year 2023. Specifically, we are seeking data points including first and last names, institution names, positions, departments, pay rates, and year-to-date gross pay.
As a media organization dedicated to transparency and holding public institutions accountable, access to such public records is crucial for us in fulfilling our professional responsibilities. We believe that this information will help us provide a more transparent view of the operations within state universities in Michigan.
We have also requested a fee waiver as a media professional given our role in disseminating information to the public.
