Rep. Elissa Slotkin, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Michigan’s 7th district, shared a series of tweets on January 22, 2025, addressing both personal and professional matters.

In a tweet posted at 01:13:40 UTC, Rep. Slotkin expressed her excitement about meeting Baby Dog for the first time. She wrote, "I finally met Baby Dog!"

Later that day, at 14:16:32 UTC, Rep. Slotkin discussed the strategic importance of food security in relation to national security. She stated, "With this commitment, the U.S. can now compete in those efforts. Food security is national security, so this is part of a larger effort to reduce our dependence on foreign minerals for fertilizer."

In another tweet posted at the same time, she welcomed news from the Department of Energy regarding support for Michigan Potash's fertilizer production efforts. She noted that potash is crucial for fertilizer and highlighted current leading producers such as Russia, Belarus, China, and Canada. Her statement read: "Welcome news! The Dept. of Energy issued a commitment to help Michigan Potash produce fertilizer for American farmers. Potash is an essential ingredient in nearly all fertilizer and currently Russia, Belarus, China, & Canada are leading producers."
