On January 30, 2025, Rep. Slotkin conveyed her condolences via Twitter regarding an aviation accident involving two aircraft in Washington DC. She stated: "My heart goes out to the loved ones of those aboard the two aircraft involved in last night’s horrible tragedy in the air in Washington DC. I thank the first responders who rushed to scene to help."
Following her initial remarks, on the same day, she emphasized the importance of recognizing those responsible for aviation safety: "As we await answers on how this occurred, we should remember those we depend on to keep the skies safe: pilots and flight attendants, ground and maintenance crew, FAA inspectors and air traffic controllers."
