On May 5, Congressman Barrett announced his action towards restoring essential services in Shiawassee County. He stated, "This morning, I sent a letter to the Acting Commissioner of the Social Security Administration calling for the restoration of in-person services at the Owosso field office, which has been closed for months. Our seniors in Shiawassee County rely on this location for their". This indicates his ongoing efforts to ensure accessibility to necessary governmental services for senior citizens.

The following day, on May 6, Barrett expressed gratitude towards educators during National Teacher Appreciation Day. He tweeted, "Happy National Teacher Appreciation Day to all the educators across mid-Michigan who inspire and shape the next generation.
