The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) has granted a permit to Zayo and US Signal to conduct emergency utility work on US-127 in Lansing. The work, scheduled for early Friday morning, Nov. 7, will address power lines that were damaged in a crash on Wednesday, Nov. 5.

The affected area is between Saginaw Street and Kalamazoo Street on both northbound and southbound lanes of US-127. The project is set to begin at 4 a.m. and is expected to conclude by 5 a.m. the same day.

During this period, there will be intermittent lane closures in both directions. The Michigan State Police will manage traffic control throughout the operation, and drivers are advised to anticipate delays.

According to MDOT, "Closing the lanes will ensure the safety of utility workers and motorists."

This emergency repair effort follows an incident where downed power lines created hazardous conditions on this section of highway in Ingham County.
