Senator Elissa Slotkin, representing Michigan's 7th district since 2019, recently shared her views on several pressing issues through a series of tweets. Born in New York City in 1976 and currently residing in Lansing, Slotkin graduated from Cornell University with a BA in 1998. Her tweets addressed environmental protection, constitutional adherence, and cybersecurity funding.

On June 4, 2025, Senator Slotkin emphasized the importance of protecting the Great Lakes by tweeting "Protect our Great Lakes!!! ".

The following day, June 5, she expressed concerns regarding the current administration's compliance with legal orders. She stated that "The constitution isn’t optional. The Supreme Court has issued multiple court orders to Homeland Security, and this Administration is flat-out ignoring them." Slotkin further criticized Homeland Security officials for not upholding the law over political directives from President Trump.

Later on June 5, Slotkin addressed potential national security risks by highlighting budget cuts to cybersecurity. She warned that "Cutting half a billion dollars of funding for cybersecurity is a recipe for disaster, and leaves Americans more vulnerable to attacks from Russia or China."

Elissa Slotkin has been an active voice in Congress since replacing Mike Bishop in 2019. Her recent comments reflect ongoing concerns about environmental protection, adherence to constitutional law, and maintaining robust cybersecurity defenses.
