The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will hold its twelfth community meeting about the I-375 project in Detroit on November 13, 2025. The meeting is open to all and will take place at The Eastern, located at 3434 Russell St., from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., with a presentation starting at 5:50 p.m.
During the session, participants can speak directly with the project team and partners. The agenda includes updates on the current pause in the project, a review of what has been accomplished so far, proposed changes to the plan, and information about upcoming utility upgrade construction activities. For those unable to attend in person, the meeting will be livestreamed. Presentation materials will also be posted on the project website after the event.
MDOT encourages anyone who needs assistance for effective participation—such as mobility, visual, hearing, or written support—to contact Orlando Curry at least five business days before the meeting. "Requests made after this timeframe will be evaluated and honored to the extent possible," according to MDOT.
The I-375 project aims to convert the existing freeway into a street-level boulevard with signalized intersections between Macomb and Franklin streets. It also seeks to create more connections from neighborhoods into Greektown and downtown Detroit. MDOT states that planned improvements include better mobility and access, enhanced environmental quality for nearby neighborhoods, and an equitable approach that recognizes the history of Black Bottom and Paradise Valley neighborhoods.
MDOT continues to invite public feedback on the project. Comments can be submitted by email, phone at 855-375-MDOT (6368), through the project website, or in person during the community meeting.
