Her comments focused on the vulnerability of American supply chains, trade policies, and budgetary decisions affecting social services.
On June 6, 2025, Senator Slotkin addressed the issue of supply chain neglect in the United States. She highlighted how "years of neglect of our supply chains have left America vulnerable to an economic veto from China." The senator pointed out that rare earth minerals are now a concern and emphasized that "Michigan's auto industry is in danger," noting that companies might be forced to open factories abroad due to these vulnerabilities. She stated that "this is what happens when you combine sloppy trade policy with this Administration's chaotic approach."
