Senator Elissa Slotkin, representing Michigan’s 7th district in the U.S. Congress since 2019, has reiterated her stance against corporate PAC donations and expressed concerns about recent economic and national security developments in a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter).

On August 3, 2025, Slotkin stated: "I’m one of just six Senators who have never taken corporate PAC checks. Our campaign finance system is broken.

If we want to regain the trust of Americans on the left, right and center, it’s a no brainer: ban corporate PAC donations to anyone running for office."

Later that day, she provided an overview of topics discussed during a recent intelligence briefing: "In our Intel Briefing this week, we hit three important things I am watching closely:

Trump’s latest tariffs and declining US manufacturing jobs

The national security threat of selling AI chips to China

Banning corporate PACs and Members of Congress from trading stocks"

On August 4, Slotkin addressed the impact of tariffs imposed by former President Donald Trump: "President Trump’s tariffs are doing the opposite of lowering costs and creating manufacturing jobs."

Slotkin's advocacy for banning corporate PAC donations aligns with her public record; she is among a small group of Senators who have not accepted such contributions. Her focus on issues like U.S. manufacturing jobs and national security reflects ongoing debates in Congress regarding trade policy and technology exports.

Elissa Slotkin was born in New York City in 1976 and currently resides in Lansing. She graduated from Cornell University with a BA in 1998.
