Sen. Elissa Slotkin, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Michigan’s 7th district since 2019, shared her experiences at the 47th Annual Hispanic Festival in Grand Rapids through a series of posts on August 4, 2025.
In one post from that day, Slotkin wrote: "Had a great time at the 47th Annual Hispanic Festival in Grand Rapids hosted by the Hispanic Center. Elissa Slotkin has served as Michigan’s representative for its 7th congressional district since defeating Mike Bishop in 2019. She was born in New York City in 1976 and currently resides in Lansing. Slotkin is an alumna of Cornell University where she earned her BA in 1998.
The annual Hispanic Festival in Grand Rapids is organized by the Hispanic Center and serves as a platform for celebrating cultural contributions and supporting local small businesses.
