Sen. Elissa Slotkin, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Michigan’s 7th district since 2019, addressed a range of policy issues in a series of posts on August 11, 2025.

In her first post at 12:43 UTC, Slotkin stated, "If a global company is paying its workers so little that they need federal benefits, that company should lose eligibility for tax incentives."

Later that day at 15:42 UTC, she commented on recent legislative developments: "Now that the President’s big bill has passed, I am hearing the real, detailed stories of what’s going to happen to the institutions we care about and the services they provide. Everyone is going to pay more for their health care."

At 21:33 UTC on the same day, Slotkin highlighted water safety concerns in Michigan and referenced ongoing support for affected communities: "Access to clean water isn’t a partisan issue. It’s about our families and our futures, and the Flint Registry is an important tool to help those exposed to lead-contaminated water. I welcome news that we've secured funding so it can continue operations."

Slotkin has represented Michigan's 7th District since replacing Mike Bishop in 2019. She was born in New York City in 1976 and currently resides in Lansing. Slotkin graduated from Cornell University with a BA in 1998.
