Senator Elissa Slotkin, currently representing Michigan’s 7th district in the U.S. Congress, recently shared updates on local events and state advancements through her social media posts.
On August 16, 2025, Slotkin highlighted a major annual event in Michigan by posting: "Nothing says August in Michigan like the Woodward Dream Cruise! Great to see everyone out for the 30th anniversary where they expected a million people!"
The following day, she attended a community celebration marking India's Independence Day. On August 17, 2025, she wrote: "Honored to join thousands in Novi for India Day, celebrating 78 years of India's Independence!
From great eats to cultural performances to the community pride on display, today highlighted India's rich history and the contributions of the over 100,000 Indian-Americans in"
Later that same day, Slotkin addressed Michigan's role in national defense innovation. She posted: "Michigan is leading the next era of defense innovation. Elissa Slotkin has served as a member of Congress since replacing Mike Bishop in 2019. Born in New York City in 1976 and now residing in Lansing, she graduated from Cornell University with a BA in 1998.
