The Michigan Democratic Party has introduced a new campaign, “Price Hike Mike,” aimed at drawing attention to Senate candidate Mike Rogers and his economic policies. The campaign includes the launch of a Twitter account, @PriceHikeMike, which will focus on highlighting how Rogers’ policy positions are affecting costs for Michigan residents and businesses.

Earlier in September, audio surfaced in which Rogers was heard downplaying concerns about rising prices. According to Heartland Signal, he said, “Oh my gosh, coffee went up. You know, horror.” The Democratic Party is using these remarks as part of its broader effort to hold Rogers accountable for what it describes as a “Price-Hike Agenda.”

The party claims that Rogers supports tariffs that have contributed to increased prices on everyday goods. In addition, they point to his backing of Republican tax legislation, arguing that it could raise costs and reduce health care access for many Michiganders.

Michigan Democratic Party spokesperson Joey Hannum stated: “Mike Rogers is a Florida mansion-dwelling multi-millionaire who mocked hardworking Michiganders worried about putting food on the table — and he’s still delusional enough to think he’s entitled to their votes. We’re making sure Michiganders remember exactly who Mike Rogers really is: another out-of-touch politician pushing tax cuts for millionaires like himself and price hikes for everyone else.”
