Last week, Mike Rogers, a U.S. Senate candidate, Army veteran, and businessman endorsed by former President Trump, met with senior leadership at a hospital in Lapeer County to address challenges in rural healthcare. The discussion focused on topics such as data security and the necessity for apprenticeship programs aimed at training new healthcare workers.
Rogers also highlighted the significance of a $50 billion investment dedicated to rural healthcare as part of President Trump’s Working Family Tax Cuts. This funding is intended to support rural hospitals facing financial difficulties.
In a video statement from the meeting, Rogers said: “Hey, we’re in Lapeer County. We just met with the senior leadership of health care around this community in the thumb.
Listen, it is so important we get this right about making sure that rural healthcare is alive and well.
In the Big, Beautiful Bill, they passed $50 billion to help rural hospitals that desperately need it.
That was absolutely critical that they’re getting that. And we’re just going to continue to have conversations about how we make sure that these hospitals are taken care of and can provide service for the rest of our rural state.
So, Michigan, we’ve got a lot of things to do. Let’s Get to Work.”
Rogers continues his campaign efforts focusing on strengthening Michigan's workforce and improving healthcare services in rural areas.
