Sen. Elissa Slotkin, a U.S. Senator and former representative of Michigan’s 7th district, posted on her Twitter account on October 6, 2025, about recent events in Grand Blanc and expressed concerns regarding national health care policy.

On October 6, 2025, Slotkin shared her experience visiting the site of a recent tragedy: "Last week, I had the opportunity to thank the first responders to the Grand Blanc shooting with @repkmr and visit the memorial for those who lost their lives in this tragedy. This community continues to lean on each other and support those who need it most, as we all work to https://t.co/ckFzAJP8Au". She also included a follow-up post: (2/2) https://t.co/WCo9sbAsq5.

Later that day, Slotkin addressed federal policy issues in another tweet: "President Trump has plunged America into a health care crisis. Instead of working to fix that, his Administration is quietly trying to cut Social Security benefits that millions of Americans have worked a lifetime to earn. https://t.co/O7b10cJbqX".

Elissa Slotkin has served in Congress since 2019 after replacing Mike Bishop as representative for Michigan’s 7th district. Born in New York City in 1976 and currently residing in Lansing, she holds a BA from Cornell University (1998).
