A Marquette resident, Ward Glass, 69, was found guilty by a Houghton County jury on six counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct. The conviction was announced by Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel.

According to the Michigan Attorney General’s office, Glass sexually assaulted the victim multiple times between 1993 and 1996 while they lived together in a Houghton County home. The survivor reported the incidents to the Michigan State Police in 2024 after an encounter with Glass nearly thirty years later. Following this report, charges were filed against Glass by the Department of Attorney General in September 2024.

Attorney General Dana Nessel stated: “Coming forward to report a sexual assault takes extraordinary courage. I commend the survivor in this case for her strength and the Michigan State Police and prosecutors in my office for their diligent work in pursuing this case and securing this conviction. My office will continue to stand with survivors and pursue justice, no matter how much time has passed.”

Sentencing is set for January 6 before Judge Brittany A. Bulleit at the 12th Circuit Court in Houghton County.
