Sen. Elissa Slotkin, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Michigan’s 7th district since 2019, recently addressed concerns about health care premium increases and political polarization in a series of posts on her social media account.

On October 10, 2025, Slotkin provided an update to her constituents: "Intel Briefing: An update on the shutdown and the stories I'm getting from Michiganders on health care premium increases they’re being told about. And I go deep on President Trump's playbook to declare secret wars against secret enemies and label Americans as domestic terrorists."

Later that day, she commented further on the impact of current presidential policies: "Because of what this President has done, everyone is either going to see their prices go up or they are going to lose their health care. I want to hear your stories. Share them: https://t.co/866HZY2sUf"

On October 12, 2025, Slotkin reiterated her call for public input with another post: "Share your story: https://t.co/Ufi4f9HOST"

Slotkin’s comments come amid ongoing debates over healthcare policy and government shutdowns. She succeeded Mike Bishop in Congress in 2019 and is known for engaging directly with constituents regarding legislative developments affecting Michigan residents. Born in New York City in 1976 and currently residing in Lansing, Slotkin holds a BA from Cornell University.
