The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will begin maintenance work on the Allen Road bridge over I-69 in Port Huron starting Monday, October 20, 2025. The project is expected to continue until Friday, November 7, 2025.

The maintenance was prompted after crews discovered a crack in one of the bridge beams during repainting work earlier in the summer. As a result, MDOT will close one lane of westbound I-69 for the duration of the project. On Allen Road, one alternating lane of traffic will remain open at all times, managed by a portable traffic signal.

MDOT stated, "This work will help ensure continued safe and reliable operation of the bridge. Closing lanes on I-69 and Allen Road is necessary to allow crews to safely perform the work."

The lane closures are intended to provide a safe environment for workers and to maintain the structural integrity of the bridge.
