Applications have opened for Michigan’s Going PRO Talent Fund, a state grant program designed to help businesses train and develop their workforce. The program provides financial support to employers looking to upskill both current staff and new hires.

This year, the fund is facing a significant reduction in available resources. As a result, competition for grants is expected to increase during this application cycle. There will be two rounds of applications: the current round for the new fiscal year and another scheduled for later in 2026.

The Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity (LEO) manages the reimbursement process. Through Michigan Works! Associations across the state, employers can receive between $2,000 and $3,500 per employee trained, depending on employment type. This funding aims to assist companies in training efforts as well as retention initiatives.

The Going PRO Talent Fund has received support from the Michigan Chamber of Commerce, which views it as an important tool for preparing workers for future job demands.

Employers seeking more information are encouraged to contact Randy Gross at the Michigan Chamber of Commerce.
